Grandma Kleiss's Peach Cake Recipe!

From Georgianne,

Here is the recipe we discussed at the picnic last night. It's surprisingly easy. You can cut down on the sugar; I know that 3/4 cup is plenty.

Peach Cake

Mix until crumbly:
1 stick butter (1/4#)
1½ c all-purpose flour
1 c sugar
½ t baking powder

Beat and mix in:
1 egg

Add a little milk if necessary.   Pat into greased, 9x13” pan.

Peel and slice about 5 or 6 peaches; arrange on dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Dot with butter if desired.

Bake at 375F for 10 min, then 350F for about 45 min.

Yummm! This sounds great! I will add this to our recipe links on the right side. Scroll down to see what other great recipes we have there.

Thank you Lisa Slater for organizing the planting of the Fair Grounds planters

And thank you to Wood River Floral and Garden Store for donating annuals and vegetables for the planters.

Lisa, Audrey and Pam struggled to fit all the fabulous plants into the new planters built and painted by the Junior Fair Board and filled with soil by Audrey's fiancee, Jerry. Thank you to the Junior Board and to Jerry for a great job on the planters!

Thank you to Wyatt of Living Hope Church Bible School for taking the pictures of us and for providing the mustaches!!
