Burnett Garden Club 1988-2018
Please note: in January 2019 the club disbanded as a formal organization but members still meet
informally to talk gardening, socialize and enjoy each others gardens!
Welcome to the Burnett Garden Club Blog. You will find information on our club about meetings and events as well as important links. We will also use this blog as an educational and inspirational tool as our mission is to promote education and enthusiasm about gardening in and around our homes and communities to energize our members and to get our creative juices flowing.
Most of our meetings take place at the Grantsburg High School at 6:30 PM on the second Thursday of the month (September through May). All meetings are open to the public. In the winter months, we have educational speakers, videos/slideshows and workshops at our meetings. During the summer months, we have no formal meetings, instead we use our time to learn by going on garden tours and nursery trips.
Our club has a fundraiser Plant Sale in the spring, an annual Community Garden Tour in the summer (local members' and community gardens), and we plant and maintain the Grantsburg sign garden on Highway 70 west of town, the flagpole garden at Memory Lake and in 2015 we designed and planted the gardens at the Grantsburg Library! Beginning in 2013 our club participates in Grantoberfest, a fun-filled, free fall festival held at the Grantsburg Fairgrounds the third Saturday in September.
We have a summer and a holiday potluck and in the spring members host a themed garden party! Please scroll through our posts for pictures of these events as well as workshops and guest speakers. Check out our calendar, minutes of past meetings, and our current and past officers using the the tab links. To return to the main page, click on Burnett Garden Club at the top of the page.
In 2018 we have been celebrating 30 years of sharing our love of gardening! To join simply come to a meeting and sign up or contact one of the officers. Yearly dues are a bargain at $5.00!! All meetings are open to the public whether members or not!
