Great tour despite the rain

Rain on Thursday did not stop the intrepid gardeners of the Burnett Garden Club in pursuit of gardens to explore. Fifteen or so members and friends toured 5 gardens beginning with revisits to the Faith Lutheran Church community garden and the Burnett Medical Center Continuing Care Center gardens.

Lots of umbrellas at Faith Lutheran Church Community Garden. Marilyn
narrated the tour explaining the evolution of the garden over the first few years.

At the CCC gardens, Becky explained the evolution from inception fifteen years earlier
to the current design.

The tour continued at Carla Holmquist's home on Mud Hen lake.

Carla and her little pal.

Delightful details
One of three fairy gardens adorning the property
A garden lounger facing the lake; what a great place
to curl up and read a book!
The rain did not let up as we moved on to Charlene's
Lucille and Charlene touring in style!!

Thank you to Charlene's husband for explaining the new gardens going in
as well as the established beds even though to him the plants were all "posies"
--much easier than trying to remember all those names!
Mary's --last stop on the tour where we had great refreshments indoors, out of the rain.

Again with the umbrellas!!

For a potting shed aficionado, this was heaven!

Only Mary could be this well organized...

And a veggie garden to die for.
Thanks to Marilyn Kooiker, Becky, Carla, Charlene and Mary for another fun, informative and fabulous Burnett Garden Club Community Garden Tour!

And thank you to Becky, Jen, Sandy and Mary for the great refreshments.

Good mulch means easy weeding!!

Georgianne and I were driving by the HWY 70 sign and thought we'd take an up close look. Realizing it was our week (along with Rhonda) to weed, we thought we'd get a jump on it. Well, with the great mulching job there weren't many weeds to speak of (we presumed Rhonda hadn't gotten the jump on us).

This weeks team (Linnea, Sandra, McKenzie and Mark) will have an easy time of it too.

Mary C. and Charlene have both shown at the Webster Fair and would be happy to advise you.

Let the Club know you are showing so we can come out to the fair to support you!! The fair runs July 21-24.
