Planning Session went well

Last week's planning session, despite rescheduling issues, went very well. We had hoped for more particiation but the rescheduling and weather did cause some confusion. We all came away with assignments to contact people and arrange details for the 2018 meetings calendar. Mary Charmoli hopes to make the final touches on the program by January 31st so they can be printed and put together for the February meeting.

In November we discovered that the High School is now locking their doors at all times for security issues. This causes a not small inconvenience for the club as members may have trouble gaining access to the building if no one is near the door to let them in. Usually there are school activities Thursday evenings with a lot of coming and going but not always. We were hoping to find a new more convenient venue but have not been successful as yet. The school is ideal because the room allows for workshops that make a mess and may require water and cleanup. It also allows long time member Wanda Bjorn to attend as she works evenings at the school. We are hoping to come up with an accommodation at the school that will allow us to continue to use it for our meetings.

Thursday, Feb 8 we will meet at the school and will have someone stationed at the door until at least 6:35 to let in members and public who wish to attend (all meetings are open to the public). Please let someone know if you plan to come but will be late. We will try to provide a phone number to call if you are late and there are no students or parents around who will let you in. We hope this is not too great an inconvenience.

Here are a few pictures from the planning meeting taken from my phone.
