March, 2011 Meeting Minutes

March 10, 2011

Burnett County Garden Club Meeting

Meeting called to order by Kris Henning.

Minutes of the February meeting approved, (moved and seconded by Janet B. and Pam D).

Treasurer reported we have $1953.16 in our account at this time.

There were 15 members present.

Old business:

We discussed the garden seminars which are going on this month;

Isanti MG seminar was March 5, Janet ,Theresa and myself attended .

Chisago MG seminar is on March 12.

Northwoods seminar is on March 19.

And Pine count y MG seminar is on March 26.

These are always wonderful and informative seminars to attend.

Becky passed around a volunteer sign-up sheet for weeding at the Village sign.

If you can think of anyone who would be interested in showing off their garden this year for the Garden tour please let Kris or Janet Byers know.

Kris will be having a sale of her Lilies on August 6th, which will be open to the Garden Club.

New business:

We have received a notice from Burnett County regarding their tree, shrub and prairie flower sale. If anyone is interested in this you can contact the Burnett County office.

We discussed the plant sale in June, if you have plants to sell you may bring your clumps to Kris
Henning’s home and they will be separated and potted up for the sale.

If there is an interest in doing a circle nursery tour, please share ideas and we will discuss it at our next meeting.

Wood River Nursery has graciously invited the Garden Club Members to preview their new selections for this spring. The date is April 16th around 9:30 or 10:00. We are asking for volunteers to bring refreshments and treats.

Janet Byers will have some of her Asiatic lilies for sale at the next meeting.

Meeting was adjourned by Kris (moved and seconded by Janet and Wanda).

Kris Henning gave a wonderful power point presentation on “Spring into Color.” Kris also had a very informative handout to coincide with the presentation.

Refreshments were served by Ruth Anderson and Wanda Biorn.
