Member looking for help planning her gardens!

Who better to ask for help with your gardens than the Garden Club!! Member Deb Norling is new to the north country. I believe Louisiana was the last place she lived and so gardening in NW Wisconsin is going to be quite a challenge though she will not miss the gators and poisonous snakes. Our snakes are pretty tame by comparison!

Not only is zone 3/4 gardening the issue, but Deb in on sand and will need tips on what to grow and how to grow it.

Here are some photos of her place. You can comment on the blog or contact her directly with your advice. She is also open to invitations to see what others have done with their sandy soil and would welcome anyone who wants to visit her.

That really is some sand!

 Love the boardwalks

Berms and raised beds are a good idea

Bottle trees grow great in the sand!

  1. Deb, I see on the third picture that you have a drip line from the roof that runs down hill. You might think about doing a rain garden on that side of the house. If you are not sure how rain gardens work, we could meet at the library and I will tell you about what we did there, what the purpose is and variations. -Pam
